Recently I had the opportunity to photograph Laura & Kade. I actually went to Junior High and High School with Laura, it is always so much fun when I get to photograph people I know even when I haven’t seen them in years. It is crazy to think that everyone is growing up, getting married, having babies, and getting big kid jobs:)

Laura and Kade were coming into town for the Houston Bridal Extravaganza so they contacted me about taking their Engagement Photos.

On the day we were supposed to take their pictures it rained all over town, thank goodness it cleared up and the sun came out just in time to capture the love between these two.

I went and grabbed this blanket right before their session as I was praying the rain would let up, I could not wait to use it. I just love the way this picture turned out! I love capturing those candid moments between people, these are the moments that really count.

I am so proud to introduce you all to Ryan. I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan this past year when I was substitute teaching at my old high school Cy-Falls High School. He is a member of Cy-Falls FFA and shows Pigs and he also loves his car, but what senior boy doesn’t?

Got to love that Blue Corduroy Jacket, since I was in FFA I am always excited when my Seniors want pictures with their FFA Jacket.

So glad we were able to grab a family picture for Ryan’s Momma. I absolutely love this picture.

I can’t even begin to tell you all of the bad jokes I had to tell to get a natural smile, but I have to say the little smirk in the top corner is the true Ryan look. I think I need some more comedic material:)

Good luck with your senior year Ryan! Julie, enjoy it and savor this year with your little boy.

I decided to start my blogging journey with one of my favorite couples, Lynzie and Gerald. I actually went to high school with these two. I knew Gerald and worked with Gerald, but I never really knew Lynzie. Little did I know when they contacted me about photographing their Wedding that it would be the start of a new friendship. I have had so much fun with these two over the past 6 months. I can’t wait to capture their little family for years to come. Like Lynzie told me “I am booking you for life!”

They showed up at their engagement session with the most adorable shirts that Lynzie had made, their wedding date was March 30, 2013.

Gerald had no idea that he was going to get a workout at their engagement session. Gosh I just adore this little trail.

PinThis

When we started out I think Gerald and Lynzie thought I was crazy with all of the thing I had them do, but the pictures turned out so precious and really showed their personalities.

PinThis

One of the things I love about Engagement sessions is the love you get to see between the future Bride and Groom. I love the pictures of them just laughing and being themselves, the more I am around them the more I realize that Gerald is a big kid and would prefer to play jokes on people all of the time.

PinThis

These white fishing shirts are so perfect! If I recall correctly there was some spinning and almost falling down between these pictures:)

PinThis

I would always catch Gerald with this adorable look on his face admiring his beautiful bride to be.

PinThis

I learned a couple of things at this session, one of those was that you can’t write with chalk on the bottom of rubber sole boots, thankfully she had another pair in the car.

PinThis

Did I mention they have the most adorable little boy Cooper, they brought him along for some family pictures. I believe he was 3 months old in these pictures and you can already tell by those eyes he is going to be a heart breaker.

PinThis

Look at those teeny little ostrich boots and those bowed legs.

PinThis

They even got matching hats, seriously these two are just too much.

PinThis

Little Cooper finally fell asleep.

PinThis

We hung around long enough to catch the sunset, I absolutely adore this sky on this evening. I don’t think I have found a more gorgeous sunset since this day.

  • gerald - Just wanna thank you for all you have done. And you were absoluetly correct on the kid and joking part. Speaking of which, did you get a realllllly strange phone call the other day? Hahaha. But you and Austin are great friends that lynzie and I really enjoy being around. Not to mention the pictures have all turned out amazing and the shoots are always fun. Thank you for all you’ve done and the hard work youve done and exceding expectations.ReplyCancel

  • Amanda - Such an awesome way to start off your blog! I think you picked the best couple ever! The sunset picture is still one of my favorites! And I just love my handsome nephew, Cooper! Way to capture them perfectly!ReplyCancel

For my first blog post I thought I would tell you all a little about me, the girl behind the camera.

My family means the world to me. I have a strong, amazing Mom and two older sisters. You know what that means, I am the baby of the family.

PinThis

Oh and I can’t forget I have the best little niece in the entire world, JoLeigh….and a Nephew on the way!

PinThis

My Mom found an amazing man, Merle. I have claimed him as my dad. I could not ask for a better man to step into our lives and make such a huge impact. Aren’t they too cute:)

PinThis

I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science in 2012. Whoop!

While I was in college I was a working student at Windy Knoll Farm in Magnolia,TX with Fran Dearing. This is where I fell in love with photography. These are actually some of the first pictures I took that made me realize how much I love photography.PinThis

I have a spoiled rotten Boxer, Paisley. She does not believe in laying on the floor like a dog, she prefers to lay on top of you. This is a picture of her on her 3rd birthday.

PinThis

I have two horses, Tavi and Lucy.

PinThis

I can’t leave this out, while I was in high school I was in FFA and showed Lambs and Goats. This was a huge part of my life and made me who I am today. My Mom and I spend countless hours on the road traveling to livestock shows each and every weekend. I also love to photograph livestock, while in college I had the privilege to intern for ShowChampions Photography.

I saved the best for last. I am engaged to my best friend and the man of my dreams Austin. We met  when I moved to Magnolia in April of my Junior year of high school. He was in my 2nd period Fishing class {yes there is fishing class in Magnolia, pond and all:)}. If you ask him he will say that he told everyone I was his the first day he saw me, that is probably why  I was known as Austin’s Girl….warning, these are some OLD pictures.

PinThis

Now for the engagement story. We had talked about taking bluebonnet pictures for years and this past April he told me that we should go take bluebonnet pictures. We went to a field off of HWY 105 and set up my camera on a tripod with the timer set to take pictures almost continuously. He was acting super strange and of course I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to pose myself which wasn’t helping, finally he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! As for the ring, he did an amazing job all by himself.

We recently bought property in Dobbin and we are planning on building our dream house eventually, it is our own little piece of heaven.

PinThis

Oh and as far as wedding planning, well we haven’t done much of that but I will keep you all posted.
